The Freeport Community Improvement Association appreciates the efforts of individual property owners, managers and tenants in contributing to the beautification of Freeport.
On behalf of the residents and visitors of Freeport and the volunteers of FCIA, we thank you for your demonstrated commitment to growing a community in which we can all take pride!
The FCIA would like to recognize the following beautification efforts within the community...
The Lenox (formerly Dansk) Building at the corner of Bow and Main Street is one of the towns most prominent buildings. The addition of large window boxes along both streets and sidewalk planters at the intersection creates a welcoming view at the center of the village.
We recognize the “growing spirit” of Lenox manager Christine Dargis and property manager Dennis Kelly in making this pleasant addition to the Freeport community.
The Jameson Tavern is a fine example of what makes Freeport unique.
Historically significant to both Freeport and the state, it is fabled as the “birthplace of Maine”.
The carefully preserved tavern operates much the same today as it did in 1820, when the documents separating Maine from Massachusetts were purportedly signed here.
In addition to history and hospitality, the Jameson always offers pleasing views with its colorful and well-maintained plantings.
Our appreciation for the “growing spirit” of the owners and staff of the Jameson Tavern.
